Lobopoda, Onychodictyon ferox

Onychodictyon ferox had a worm-like body with lobe-like legs.

• Like most Cambrian animals, it was small, up to about 70 mm (2.8 inches).

• The lobe-like legs ended in sharp claws that would enable them to climb up objects.

• They underwent molting of their skin as they grew.

• It may have had a pair of simple eyes.

• This species has been found only in China, but other lobopod species are known from other places.
